Silver Special Collections
Billings Library Room B201
University of Vermont
48 University Place, Burlington, Vermont
In his exhibition "The Earth Will Hold Us," photographer, printer, bookmaker, and educator Andrew Frost shares photographs that he has taken as he explored the tension between his childhood sense of Vermont as a mythical place connected to generations of his family and the reality he encountered when he visited and then took up residence. Andrew received an MFA from Syracuse University and is a media technician and lecturer in UVM's Art and Art History Program. His book, The Northeast Kingdom, is available in Special Collections.
On November 10 at 5:00 pm, Special Collections will host a reception. At 5:45, Andrew and Alice Boone, education curator at the Fleming Museum, will have a conversation about memory, rocks, maple syrup, and catamounts as they consider the question, what does it mean to be from a place?
Free and open to the public. For more information, contact Special Collections at uvmsc.uvm.edu or 802-656-2138.
