The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) and the Vermont Department of Libraries celebrate Agricultural Literacy Week during the third week of November to highlight and celebrate local farms, farmers and the food system. The theme this year is “Land Connections.” Check out some recent books that explore Vermonters’ connections with the land.
To celebrate Vermont Archives Month 2021, Special Collections invites you to help us finish transcribing the diaries of Mary Jean Simpson during our second annual Transcribe-A-Thon from October 25-29, 2021.
Our digital series, "Gathering Leaves: Conversations about Book Arts," continues with a presentation by UVM English professor Liz Fenton. Professor Fenton will discuss how an interest in the history of printing first emerged out of and then revitalized her work as a literary critic.

A new exhibit space in the Davis Center provides a venue in which the work and struggles of Black, Indigenous and People of Color at UVM can be acknowledged and celebrated.The inaugural exhibit is centered on the experiences of Black members of the UVM community. On March 4, Julian Barnett, artist-in-residence in UVM's Department of Theater and Dance, will give a performance/lecture highlighting his most recent professional work, shedding light on multicultural processes and contexts, and examining the role vulnerability has played in his choreographic life.
The current exhibit in Silver Special Collections, "Work of Art: Dancing Together in Vermont," examines the process involved in creating diverse dance communities.
